Alan and I have been spending our weekends in Chicago learning everything we can about our new boat - and we have ALOT to learn. It is always an adventure when you buy a used boat and try to understand everything the previous owner did with it. Having gone from the 1968 Chris Craft to a 2004, well you can imagine that the electronics are a bit more up to date. Now if we could just figure them all out! We are on vacation this week and I am hopeful that by the time it ends we will will have a much better understanding of the navigation electronics, have our Sirius radio working and be on our way to having television reception. It is so wonderful to have air conditioning, especially during these days in the 90's! Alan has been spending a lot of time fixing the small stuff - as he does so well.

Joe and Kim and coming in from Dallas Thursday night and we are giddy to see them. We can't wait to show them our new boat and take them out on Lake Michigan.

I hope you will follow us on our blog as we make our way through the Calumet, Illinois,Michigan and Ohio Rivers to bring our boat home in September. It will be a great adventure for us and one I am sure one we will long remember.

Here's a fun except from The Alchemist:
"'That's what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.'"
